IT168 评测为什么没有独立显卡业务的Intel公司却能够占据整个图形芯片市场的近半壁江山？因为他们整合主板芯片组的出货量和他们的处理器一样庞大，这也在一定程度上说明不在少数的用户并不需要自己的电脑有太高的图形性能。尽管如此，还总是有人会抱怨说Intel整合主板的图形性能实在是太糟糕了。现在你真的很难说Intel和AMD的处理器产品谁会比谁好很多，因此在很多时候整合主板效能的高低就成了用户选择Intel还是AMD平台的决定性因素。而在这方面，AMD显然是要比Intel有优势的。

做为明星级产品780G的接班人，AMD 785G主板届时将会成为AMD新一代家用平台Pisces的组成部分。AMD 785G主板芯片组的研发代号为RS880，因此之前会有将其命名为880G的说法，不过最终仍借助于780G的?明星效应?而定名为785G。AMDRS880北桥芯片仍然通过Hyper-Transport 3.0总线和处理器相连接，同时支持PCI-E Gen 2界面，内建24条PCI-E线路，这其中包括了一条PCI-E x16的显卡界面，四组PCI-E x1的扩充界面以及一组通过A-Link II技术用于连接南桥芯片的PCI-E x4界面三部分。
AMD RS880北桥芯片仍然沿用TSMC的55nm芯片制造工艺，21mm x 21mm大小的528引脚FCBGA封装格式，预设工作电压为1.1V，TDP为11.4W左右，节电状态下则更是可以低至3W以下。RS880北桥芯片的脚位完全和上代RS780兼容，主板厂商甚至无需对PCB的线路进行更改。南桥芯片方面则是搭载AMD SB710，528-FCBGA封装格式，TDP仅为4.5W，一条PCIe x4 Gen 1规格的总线用于和RS880北桥芯片的连接，支持6组的SATA 3Gb/s和14组USB，而新一代SB800系列南桥则会在明年全面上马。
AMD RS880北桥芯片同样支持招牌式的板载显示内存（Side Port Memory）技术，最高支持256MB容量的DDR2-1066或128MB容量的DDR3-1333显存颗粒，只不过其位宽界面只有16-bit而已。在内存颗粒持续低迷的今天，AMD 785G主板以板载显示内存技术进一步拉升产品性能不失为明智之举。除此之外，混合交火（Hybrid CrossFireX ）技术亦被785G主板芯片组完整保留，PC厂商若选择785G主板和Radeon HD 4350/4550显卡的解决方案，则完全可以宣传为Radeon HD 4600级别的图形性能。

虽然从780G到785G的型号命名上也可以看得出来这是一次半代改良，但是由于后者的图形核心已经升级至Direct X 10.1/Shader Model 4.1支持，为了向ATI Radeon HD 4000家族靠拢，因此定名为ATI Radeon HD 4200，其预设核心工作频率仍然维持在ATI Radeon HD 3200图形芯片500MHz的水准上（事实上这已经是相当保守的了），同样用用统一渲染架构（Unified Shader）设计，内建40组流处理器（Stream Processors），8组Texture Address Unit，4组Texture Filiting Unit，4组ROP。
ATI Radeon HD 4200可以说是首款也是现时唯一一款支持Direct X 10.1/Shader Model 4.1的整合图形芯片，而其也已经植入了拆嵌式细分曲面（Tessellation）技术，该技术能够节省Shader运算量，从而降低3D游戏程序对于GPU的负荷，其已经被纳入到微软新一代图形编程接口DirectX 11的支持范畴之内了。因此你也可以看到，其实除了像流处理器个数和显示内存位宽这样的硬件参数之外，ATI Radeon HD 4200整合显示芯片和RV7xx图形芯片的ATI Radeon HD 4000系列显卡是没有什么不一样的。
图像输出方面，ATI Radeon HD 4200图形芯片支持两组独立的显示输出。预设有一组DVI或HDMI数字输出以及一组通过DAC支持的D-Sub模拟输出，而实现两组数字显示输出也是完全没有问题的。若板载显示内存部分的线路没有被使用，那么其也可以被用作显示输出线路使用，不过ATI Radeon HD 4200图形芯片最多只支持两组输出同时工作。ATI Radeon HD 4200图形芯片的HDMI标准亦由1.2升级至1.3，内建HDCP，支持受保护的蓝光影像播放，HDMI声效支持亦提升至7.1声道，可直接同步输出。

和3D部分相比，785G所支持的UVD2技术较之780G更具吸引力，UVD2除继续提供完全硬件解码VC-1、H.264及MPEG-2外，更加入了DVD Upscaling to HD的功能，使得用户在欣赏DVD分辨率（720?480）时便可以获得接近Full HD分辨率（1920?1080）的效果。785G还将搭载名为Accelerated Video Transcoding(AVT) 技术，支持使用GPU进行编码的功能，最高支持H.264及MPEG-2格式的1080P，编码速度将快于实际播放速度。现在已知的是Cyberlink公司已正式提供AVT技术支持。
与上一代RS780系列芯片相比，AMD RS880芯片植入了所谓?Dual-Stream?技术的概念，即把内建图形芯片上负责影像解码的ALU单元由一组提升至两组，让具有40个流处理器的ATI Radeon HD 4200图形芯片具备同时处理两组影片的能力，而且同样是VC-1、H.264及MPEG-2通吃，且支持画中画功能。除此之外，在UVD2技术下还新增了动态对比度调节（Dynamic Contrast）功能，可以实时针对每一帧图像进行优化，像是Arcosoft的Total Media Theatre和Cyberlink Power DVD均已可支持。

我们在测试AMD 785G主板时用了8.634 Beta版本的驱动程序，它应该会出现在这个月到来的ATI Catalyst Software Suite 9.8驱动程序包中。正如我们在前面所说，预设500MHz的核心工作频率对于785G来说无疑是相当保守的，事实上它完全可以在默认电压下以750MHz的核心工作频率完成所有的测试。比较对象方面，AMD Athlon II X2 240处理器搭载785G主板和Intel Pentium DC E5300搭载G45主板的定位和价格应该都是相当的，而这两款处理器无疑也是近期国内零售市场上受关注最高的产品了。

DirectX 10.1技术对于3D游戏画质和速度两方面的双重提升对于整合主板来说可以让不可玩变为可玩，你可以看到1280 x 的解析度在这里仍然是我们的底线，在低画质下AMD 785G依然达成了可玩的帧数，而G45甚至还不能很好的支持这些游戏。

DXVA Checker工具已经可以检测到两组1920 x 1080的硬件解码
当AMD的UVD2对上Intel的ClearVideo，你可以看到AMD 785G主板在面对VC-1、H.264以及MPEG-2这三大编码时均可以把一颗双核心处理器的使用率控制在10%以下，而Intel G45的表现虽然并没有AMD来的好，但是和自家的G35相比也算不错了。
Cyberlink公司的MediaShow Espresso软件可以把源重新编码至iPhone、iTouch以及PSP等个人终端手持设备所支持的格式，当然你也可以自定义自己需要的编码格式和解析度。我们使用的这个版本已经提供了对于ATI Stream流计算的支持。

"CPU/GPU超频性能及电力消耗
在这一部分上，我们分别对AMD 785G主板的处理器超频性能和内建ATI Radeon HD 4200图形芯片的超频性能进行了测试，测试用主板为0603版本BIOS的华硕M4A785TD-M EVO。处理器方面，一颗AMD Athlon II X2 250可以在全自动工作电压下被带到255MHz x 15即3.825GHz的工作主频上并稳定工作，超频幅度接近30%。内建图形芯片方面更是让人惊喜，ATI Radeon HD 4200的核心工作频率在预设电压下即可被带至1GHz！而通常稳定工作在750MHz/1333MHz的核心/显存频率下是没问题的。

电力消耗方面，AMD 785G主板具有新的ATI PowerPlay节电技术，你可以看到它和开启凉又静技术的AMD Athlon II X2处理器所在的平台在待机状态下的功耗只有50W！满载状态下的功耗也没有超过70W，这样的电力消耗表现已经不能不说出色了。
"结语：横向测试已经开始
和之前的690G以及780G一样，AMD仍然选择在中国大陆地区首发785G主板，时间是在8月4日，而全球范围内的正式发布则还要等到8月25号。虽然从产品的型号命名上也看得出从780G到785G只能算是一次?半代改良?，不过后者带来的更新也已经足够多了。原生的Socket AM3插座和DDR3内存支持不说，在Windows 7和DirectX 10.1应用下的性能提升，速度更快画质更好的影像回放，更为丰富的通用计算应用以及更大的超频潜能和更智能的节电技术，785G带给我们的要远比这半代改良多的多。
用户往往并不会因为自己的电脑不需要太高的图形性能就放松对整合主板的要求，即便其内建的图形芯片基本上是?免费?的。?我用得上用不上是一回事，而有没有又是一回事?无疑是用户的普遍消费心理。你可以看到自从AMD并购ATI之后，他们的整合主板芯片组就一直在追随着其图形芯片的脚步，从DX 9的RS690到DX 10的RS780再到DX 10.1的RS880均是如此。由于现时x86处理器双雄的主板芯片组搭配基本上都是自给自足的了，因此一款足够好的主板芯片组完全有理由把用户留在自家的平台上。
一款优秀的芯片组产品没有理由不得到各大主板厂商的支持，事实上此番785G的正式发布也就意味它的上市开卖而绝非纸面发布。像是华硕和微星这样的台系主板大厂均在第一时间拿出了不只一款的产品，而像是昂达等国内通路主板厂商的785G主板送到我们手上的速度也并不会慢多少，似乎也只有像785G这样的经典产品续作才有可能在发布的第一时间就出现百花齐放的态势。我们在785G主板NDA解禁的同时便开始了对于相关产品的横向测试，下周的时候你就可以知道究竟哪款785G主板更值得选择了。
